Riverlane graduates in the office having a meeting

Graduate Scheme

Our graduate scheme is designed to enable those with degrees in subjects such as Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or Engineering to develop their skills and expertise and become future leaders in the quantum computing industry.

Our graduate scheme

Our graduate scheme

You will join us at our office in Cambridge, UK, where you will work alongside our multi-disciplinary team and rotate through different functions of the company including engineering, quantum science and product. Every graduate trainee will have a dedicated supervisor who will support you throughout the year and provide coaching to develop your skills. You will be given responsibility from the outset, gaining hands-on experience and developing a broad understanding of quantum computing, as well as receiving support in building key engineering skills.

  • We are only able to accept applications from individuals who already have the right to work in the UK (e.g. UK/Irish nationals, or those who have settled/pre-settled status).

  • Regrettably, we are unable to provide sponsorship or letters of support for sponsorship applications for our graduate recruitment scheme.

  • Riverlane's graduate scheme starts on Monday 6th October, 2025.

TESTIMONIALS

"My experience at Riverlane has been an incredible deep dive into the field of quantum computing. From diving into the theory of error correction to working hands-on with hardware and FPGA design, I got to engage with every layer of the quantum stack. The opportunity to collaborate with expert engineers and scientists was particularly rewarding, whether I was optimizing quantum algorithms or deploying software onto the worlds larger HPC systems. Every project felt like I was on the bleeding-edge of the industry, with a perfect mix of theory, cutting-edge technology, and real impact. It was a mind-expanding experience that massively improved my professional skills and fuelled my passion for the field!"

- Adnaan Walayat, Graduate Engineer 2023-2024

"The graduate scheme at Riverlane has been one of the greatest learning experiences I have ever had. I’ve been particularly enjoying diving deeper into unfamiliar topics and having new stimulating challenges that sharpen my problem-solving skills. Not only the exciting cutting-edge work is very fulfilling, but the whole Riverlane team is incredibly knowledgeable, supportive and collaborative. I’ve learned a tremendous amount, become more confident in my abilities and had fun along the way. Riverlane is an exciting, fast-paced and open-minded place that I am extremely grateful to have been a part of."
