About the role

You will join our Engineering team building Deltaflow.OS, a new operating system for quantum computers, and related tooling. As part of the Control System team, you will implement FPGA components and be involved in all the aspects of the control electronics management: hardware assessment and selection, drive the requirements for new hardware designs, hardware testing.
You will work closely within a multi-disciplinary team composed of experimental physicists, FPGA designers, embedded software and front-end developers. You will have the opportunity to own parts of this business-critical tooling and infrastructure.

What you will do

  • Develop FPGA logic implementing complex DSP algorithm and interfacing a heterogeneous set of hardware devices, such as Multi-Giga-Sample D/A and A/D devices, precision D/A and A/D converters, fast and slow digital interfaces
  • Drive hardware debug, performance verification and testing
  • Assess and drive the selection of control electronics
  • Define specs for the design of complex PCB designs.
  • Develop PCB designs of low-to-medium complexity
  • Build the test-environment for control electronics

What we need

  • A master’s degree or PhD in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or Physics
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of people
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven experience in FPGA design
  • Familiarity with hardware debugging and performance verification for low-noise RF Front-ends and High-Speed A/Ds and D/As
  • Some experience of PCB design
  • Python programming (at least intermediate) and other scripting languages (e.g.: Tcl, bash)

Even better if

  • Previous experience with Xilinx MPSoC or RFSoC devices
  • Some familiarity with C/C++ coding for Embedded Systems
