Georgia Nixon

PhD Intern


Georgia is a physicist currently studying towards a PhD in quantum many-body systems at the Cavendish Laboratory, University of Cambridge. She received a BSc degree in physics and mathematics and a BMus degree in classical performance piano in 2017 from the University of Otago, New Zealand, and a BSc degree (Hons) in physics in 2018 from the University of Auckland, New Zealand. In 2019, she was a Research Assistant with the School of Physics, the University of Sydney, Australia as a member of the Centre for Excellence in Engineered Quantum Systems (EQUS). Her research passions include many-body quantum systems, topological phases of matter and quantum simulation. Georgia was the recipient of the Cambridge-Rutherford Memorial PhD Scholarship in 2019.
